Account Manager and Sales Lead

Madrid, Spain

At Singular Beacon we are looking for a candidate with integrity, insight and initiative to join our team as Account Manager and Sales Lead

We are looking for people who are passionate about technology and about business, with vision and a drive for excellence, who can sustain a relationship of trust with the client over time and, at the same time, be accountable for the numbers: growing the existing portfolio, opening new accounts and defending price and margin. We are looking for proven professional experience in account management and business development within technology consulting environments.

We would like to build a long-term relationship based on the trust, transparency, empathy and passion we all share for our profession.

Join a team where your dedication and autonomy will be key to achieving shared success. For our part, we will work to ensure these skills are rewarded with interesting professional experiences and generous compensation in line with the value you bring to the organization, reflecting the successes we will share.

The role

What kind of employee are we looking for?

a woman wearing glasses standing in front of a brick wall

At Singular we look for professionals with integrity, insight and initiative, who are committed to developing their careers and feel comfortable in a competitive, dynamic and results-oriented environment. We value candidates who, in addition to a solid academic background, stand out for their analytical ability, rigor, sense of responsibility in meeting objectives and/or their achievements in areas beyond the professional.

In particular, what catches our attention is:

  • Analytical ability and a strong academic record.
  • A drive for excellence and high ethical and professional standards.
  • Diligence and commitment demonstrated in previous work experience. Specifically, professionals committed to their employers, with long-lasting past collaborations that show this commitment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Professional ambition and the dual ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn and keep developing within the company.
  • A sense of social commitment, athletes with competitive experience and/or involvement in musical projects or groups of various kinds.

If these values resonate with you, we want to meet you!

What will you do?

You will be part of the Sales team, serving as Account Manager for our portfolio and as Sales Lead for the firm.

As Account Manager you will be the client's first point of contact, alongside the project manager for that account. You handle the start of the relationship and everything commercial in nature: the account plan, the proposal, the negotiation, renewal and growth. The project manager attends to day-to-day needs and keeps you informed of the hours consumed, so that you can anticipate the next conversation with the client rather than react to it.

As Sales Lead you will be accountable for the targets set and will own the process: forecast, pipeline and CRM on Odoo, pricing policy and the criteria for which opportunities we say yes to and which we don't.

You will also open new accounts: prospecting, qualification, proposal and closing, drawing on partner alliances and on the firm's presence at industry events and forums.

You will also have the support of the rest of the team —management, project managers and consultants— whom you will bring in when an opportunity calls for technical judgment.

And you will work closely with delivery: what is signed has to be deliverable, so you will check your forecast against the team's real capacity before committing to dates with the client.

Responsibilities
Account management

  • Be the main point of contact for your accounts: know their business and their priorities, and attend to their needs.
  • Draw up and maintain the account plan.
  • Champion the renewal and growth of the portfolio: scope extensions, new projects.
  • Anticipate when prepaid hour packages will run out and lead the renewal and pricing conversation with the client.
  • Tracking satisfaction and acting as the escalation point for anything that affects the commercial relationship.

Sales responsibility: numbers, price and process

  • Be accountable for the firm's sales target and report on it to management with data, not impressions.
  • Keep the forecast and pipeline up to date in Odoo, so that the real status of each opportunity can be checked without having to ask.
  • Propose and apply the pricing policy and safeguard the profitability of what is signed.
  • Qualify and prioritize: decide which opportunities we put effort into and which we give up, and make the case for it.
  • Maintain and improve the sales process: stages, proposal templates, sales pitch and payment collection follow-up.

New business development

  • Prospecting and qualifying new accounts in the sectors and segments where we are strong.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with partners, alliances and other players in the ecosystem.
  • Market analysis: spotting trends, competitor moves and opportunities for expansion, and making proposals accordingly.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, forums and trade fairs.

Proposals, negotiation and contracting

  • Prepare sales proposals tailored to the client, with clearly defined scope, assumptions and price.
  • Lead the negotiation through to closing, seeking an agreement that is sustainable for both parties.
  • Manage contracting and the associated documentation, and leave the file in order for delivery.
  • Hand over each project won to the project manager with no loss of context: what has been sold, on what assumptions and at what margin.

Coordination with delivery

  • Check the sales forecast against the team's real capacity before committing to dates.
  • Get the hours consumed and the status of each account from the project manager, and turn that into the next sales action.
  • Bring in management, project managers and consultants as needed when an opportunity calls for technical judgment.
  • Close the loop: bring back to the team what the client values and what it finds lacking.

Product and market knowledge

  • Know our catalog —Odoo, data and BI, custom development, cybersecurity and digitalization— inside out so you can position it with good judgment.
  • Understand the client's requirements and translate them, with the team, into a viable solution.
  • Be conversant with industry trends at the level needed to open business conversations.
  • Know the digitalization grant programs we work with and how they fit each account.

One month

On your first day we will welcome you at our offices, located at Av. de Ciudad de Barcelona 132, 1st floor.

During the first week we will move ahead with the onboarding process and equip you with all the tools you need.

You will meet with management to set your sales objectives and a three-month work plan, and you will start sitting in on the first meetings with clients in the portfolio.

Three Months

You will have your assigned portfolio and the account plan for the main accounts, and you will already be the commercial contact the client recognizes.

Your forecast will be live in Odoo and you will have closed your first renewals and proposals on your own.

We will also expect your critical reading of how we sell today: what price we hold, which opportunities we are letting slip and what would need to change.

Six Months

You will be accountable for the sales target with full autonomy and a reliable forecast, and the sales process and the CRM will be yours.

You will have grown the accounts in the portfolio and opened a new one or two, and you will have a meeting with management to compare notes, in both directions, on how the fit is working out.

And the technical team will work with what you sign without surprises: clear scope, written assumptions and planned margin.

What do we ask for?

The basics...

  •  A STEM university degree (bachelor's, licenciatura or master's), preferably in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.
  •  More than 5 years of professional experience, with a demonstrable track record as a senior profile.
  •  Experience working in a consultancy.
  •  Having managed client portfolios and met the agreed targets.
  •  The full B2B consultative sales cycle: qualification, proposal, negotiation and closing.
  •  Use of a CRM for forecasting and tracking opportunities.
  •  Ease with price and margin: building a profitable proposal and knowing how to defend it.
  •  The ability to understand a technology solution and translate it into business value for the decision-maker.

You'll blow us away if you also...

  •  Experience selling ERP, BI or digital transformation projects.
  •  Knowledge of Odoo as a product (certifications valued).
  •  Experience with public grant programs for digitalization.
  •  Certifications in sales or sales management (Salesforce, HubSpot or others).
  •  Use of Power BI or another reporting tool for your own sales tracking.
  •  Good level of English.
  •  You have an entrepreneurial mindset: you have started something of your own or led an initiative from scratch.

What do we offer?

We offer a permanent full-time contract with a salary in line with the candidate's experience and merit. Pay is governed by our remuneration policy and the contract is subject to the collective agreement for consulting, information technology, and market and opinion research companies. In addition, all our employees benefit from our incentive policy.

We will make the final offer based on your previous experience, qualifications and our internal assessment of your application.

If you have read this posting and feel you fit our philosophy and the role but are looking for something different, we would be delighted to meet you and explore possible synergies together.

Salary

€40 - 60 k/year

+ incentives

for 40h/week or the equivalent for shorter working hours. Final salary to be agreed based on your résumé, previous experience and internal assessment.

Additionally

  • Close-Knit Team: there are few of us and we look after each other. At Singular we care about people and think of ourselves as a family.
  • Training: training is one of our pillars, so you will design a training plan with your manager and the company will help you carry it out in two ways:

    1. Adjusting your workload
    2. Potentially funding part of it.
  • Benefits in Kind: the option of receiving part of your pay in kind (meal vouchers, childcare, health insurance and/or training).
  • Community: we try to organize all kinds of team building and networking activities, from attending events to heading out to the mountains for a hike, by way of LAN parties and the like.
  • Complementary Projects: as you will read in the about us section, we collaborate on projects of various kinds, such as social platforms and/or the production of podcasts.

When and where will you work?

  • Remote-friendly work, at least 20% of the time and up to 60%, subject to the project, the client and your manager's approval.
  • As for where you live, the only requirement is to reside in the Community of Madrid and/or be able to get to the workplace, or to meetings that may come up unexpectedly, within an hour and a half.
  • The standard working day is 9:00 to 18:30 Monday to Thursday and 9:00 to 15:00 on Fridays. Everyone arranges their working day within the 8:00 to 20:00 window to complete their 40 weekly hours as they see fit, always trying to meet the needs of the project and the client. We have an ERP (Odoo) where we log our hours to keep detailed track of the effort spent so that we can bill it to our clients.
  • You will have 23 days of vacation per year by contract under the collective agreement, to which we add 2 extra days granted by the company if you meet your objectives.

Who will you work with?

These are the people you will interact with most in your day-to-day work. Feel free to contact them on LinkedIn if you need further feedback before submitting your application.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, the person we are looking for must be based in Madrid and available to come to our offices or the client's offices in line with the remote working model on offer.

Immediate start.

We understand that it is impossible to match a role 100%, and we appreciate your honesty. All we ask is that you be realistic. It is normal not to meet the odd requirement, but we expect you to be aware of your own limitations and, if you apply, to have relevant and complementary experience or training.

That said, for this role there are four requirements we do not negotiate: a STEM university degree (preferably Engineering, Mathematics or Physics), more than 5 years of professional experience, experience working in a consultancy, and having managed client portfolios while meeting the agreed targets. If you meet all four and are missing some of the rest, apply and tell us which ones you don't meet: we value honesty.

We are a technology consultancy with a strong culture and a workload typical of our sector. We don't like working overtime, but the working days are intense. Whatever your role, you will have responsibility and clear objectives, and both internal managers and clients will be demanding about deadlines,  deliverables and reporting.

We have grown from 3 people in 2021 to 15 in 2025. Our goal for 2030 is to reach revenue of €5M/year.

How do I apply?

You will find the apply button at the top and bottom of this page. When you click it, a page will open where you can answer a few questions and submit your CV.

About Us

Who are we?

We are a technology consultancy incorporated in Spain in 2021. We were founded in the United Kingdom (London) under the brand Digital Branding Ltd in 2015. Because of our size, we fall into the category known as boutique consultancies.

Our value proposition is based on a comprehensive digitalization offering that covers everything from development through to go-live and subsequent maintenance.

We develop digital solutions that bring our clients' ideas and ambitions to life, so that as many people as possible can enjoy their services. We cover critical areas of digitalization such as Design (UI&UX), Marketing and Communication, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Architecture, Cybersecurity and Compliance.

We work for clients such as El Corte Inglés, Iberdrola, Barter Energy and the Global Sports Innovation Center Powered by Microsoft. You can see more in our case studies.

We are also patrons of the initiative Nuestras Causas and producers of the show Profesionales Excepcionales hosted by our chairman Javier Pascual.

You can learn more about us and what we do in the press releases section of our website.

Adding Value

Drive for Excellence and Results Orientation

We offer high-quality solutions and work so that every euro our clients invest turns into value for their firm. We take responsibility for the full project life cycle, operating on the principles of efficiency and effectiveness, beginning with the end in mind and seeking synergies and win-win strategies.

Adaptability

Flexibility, Empathy and Transparency

Our sector and our clients' needs are constantly changing. We are aware of these needs, and considerate and understanding toward them. We are willing to help, and we do so by being flexible about changes to initial requirements, deadlines and costs.

How do we work?

Our working philosophy is agile and project-oriented. Odoo is our CORE system (ERP, CRM, HCM, PPM, CMS and DMS), which we complement with the Microsoft ecosystem for email, office software and communication.

In terms of governance, we plan on a weekly basis and hold dailies and weeklies so that progress is coordinated and we can help each other with any blockers that arise. We send follow-up minutes to clients so they can keep track of the project's progress, and we keep unit cost control for each project. To do so, we log our hours against the different projects we work on.

To make asynchronous work easier with such diverse teams, you will share your experience as explicit knowledge by creating and/or updating documentation and procedures. That way, the rest of the team can consult it, update it and benefit from it.

You will be in continuous training, so if you come across something you lack the qualifications or experience for, you will have the opportunity to train in it.

The standard dress code is business casual, which for men means wearing a shirt, long pants and closed shoes, and for women a formal, understated equivalent, avoiding sportswear or overly casual clothing.

Our code of ethics governs how we behave both within the company and in our dealings with clients, suppliers and the communities where you are present on the company's behalf.

Where do we work?

Our profession demands a close relationship with our clients, so most of our consultants visit them or work some days at the client's own offices. In addition, we try to get together at least three times a week at our offices.
