Singular Beacon, S.L. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Singular Beacon”, “we” or “us”) understand that you value your privacy. We are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal data. This privacy notice describes how we handle and protect your personal data (the “Privacy Notice”) when we collect it through Singular Beacon websites, applications and digital assets (collectively, our “Sites”) and through our external business activities, such as service offerings, events, surveys and communications, when we interact with you and collect your data for use by Singular Beacon on its own behalf (that is, when Singular Beacon acts as data controller or a similar term under applicable privacy law).
If you are an employee of a Singular Beacon client or of a Singular Beacon service provider, we may receive your personal data from your employer. Our use of your personal data is governed by our agreement with your employer.
You are not obliged to share your personal data with us, but if you do not, Singular Beacon may not be able to properly provide you with our full range of services or a good user experience with our solutions, our Sites or newsletters.

1. Data controller
When Singular Beacon collects and processes your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Notice, we do so as authorized by applicable data privacy laws, either as data controller or joint controller (similar terms may be used under applicable law). This means that we determine and are responsible for how we collect, use, protect, disclose and delete your personal data.
Depending on the jurisdiction in which you are located or in which you contact Singular Beacon, the local Singular Beacon entity may be your main data controller.
2. How do we collect your personal data?
Singular Beacon collects personal data directly from you and from third parties in the course of our business activities:
- Singular Beacon collects personal data about you in the course of our routine business activities:
– when you interact with our Sites, including when you manage your cookie preferences, as described in our Cookie Notice;
– when you create or log in to a user profile on our Sites;
– when you sign up to receive Singular Beacon newsletters and alerts and interact with those newsletters and alerts;
– when you register for and take part in Singular Beacon conferences and events;
– when you take part in public content-posting areas, such as Singular Beacon bulletin boards, discussion forums and social media sites;
– when you take part in a survey, round table or one-to-one conversation conducted by Singular Beacon; or
– when you interact with Singular Beacon or its employees on its Sites, by email or by telephone, to ask a question, request information or otherwise seek a response from Singular Beacon. - Singular Beacon may also receive personal data about you from third parties, including service providers and data providers, in the course of our business activities. When we collect personal information from third parties, the data consists mainly of publicly available personal information gathered from commercial websites, public social media platforms and other widely used public sources. We also acquire anonymized data sets from certain service providers, which we keep in anonymized form. In each case, we make every effort to confirm that the third party has lawfully collected the data from appropriate sources and is authorized to share the data with Singular Beacon for the uses intended by Singular Beacon in accordance with section three below.
Sensitive personal data or special categories of data: we may also collect sensitive personal data or special categories of data directly from you, for example, when you respond to a survey or discussion panel conducted by Singular Beacon and provide us with demographic or other personal data, or when you provide us with information to enable us to accommodate our services to your request at a conference or event. We use sensitive personal data only with your consent, unless there is another legal basis (e.g., public health requirements). When we collect and use sensitive personal data for research, data analysis and statistical purposes, we use it to produce reports and publications based on anonymized data sets.
We may combine the personal data we receive directly from you with the personal data we receive from third parties, to the extent that such collection and use of personal data and sensitive personal data is consistent with this Privacy Notice and with the purposes and data access described in section three below.
3. Why and how do we use your personal data?
Singular Beacon uses your personal data for different purposes and may combine data from multiple sources to achieve those purposes. The following table summarizes the purposes for which we process your personal data, the categories of personal data we use for each purpose and the legal bases on which each data processing activity relies, together with who has access to the personal data.
Managing our business relationship with you
- Purpose: As an employee of a Singular Beacon client, you receive information about our services and solutions, including proposals, invoices, etc.
- Categories of Personal Data: Name, pronouns, email, location, professional or employment-related information such as job title, position or employer.
- Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in providing the services.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.

- Purpose: If you create an account on singularbeacon.com, you will have access to newsletters, alerts, unlimited article downloads and personalized content in our application.
- Categories of Personal Data: User ID, password; name, pronouns.
- Legal Basis: Your consent, given when creating a user profile.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
Newsletters and alerts
- Purpose: If you sign up to receive Singular Beacon newsletters and alerts, you will receive commercial information relating to business management or specific to your sector.
- Categories of Personal Data: User ID, pronouns, name and email address, telephone number.
- Legal Basis: Your consent, given when signing up for our alerts newsletter.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
Conferences and events
- Purpose: When you register and we process your request to take part in conferences and events, including webcasts.
- Categories of Personal Data: Name, pronouns, email, location, professional or employment-related information such as job title, position, employer, dietary or health-related information to accommodate any special requirements, including disabilities, or authorizations for the use of audio and video material if we take photographs or videos.
- Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in providing you with access to our conferences and events and, where legally required, on the basis of your consent given when registering for conferences and events with regard to participation in audio or video, webcasts or other media events.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
Public user posts and surveys
- Purpose: To take part in public user-posting areas, including bulletin boards and discussion forums, and to take part in surveys for research or other business-related purposes. For each survey, we provide you with specific information about what personal data is collected and how the processing activity is carried out.
- Categories of Personal Data: Your personal preferences and the information you provide about yourself in your comments, notices, posts and survey responses.
- Legal Basis: Your consent, given when posting in those forums and taking part in the surveys.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
Comparative market analysis (benchmarking)
- Purpose: To carry out comparative market analysis and data analytics activities, such as analyzing hiring practices in a sector, detecting fraud patterns in relation to financial transactions and consumer traffic in retail environments.
- Categories of Personal Data: Specific professional information relating to you, location, behavioral data, etc.
- Legal Basis: Our legitimate interest in carrying out research and analysis activities as part of our business and, where necessary, your consent given to Singular Beacon or to the third parties that provide us with the information.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
Maintaining and providing Singular Beacon services
- Purpose: To provide our services or products to our clients, including benchmark products (benchmarking).
- Categories of Personal Data: Access data, email and your name in order to communicate with you, preferences regarding use of the website or application, etc.
- Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in the promotion and protection of Singular Beacon, the provision of our services and the establishment and maintenance of business relationships.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
Compliance and legal actions
- Purpose: To comply with all applicable regulations, bring legal actions and mount a legal defense before the courts, prevent fraud and enforce Singular Beacon agreements, this Privacy Notice, the Cookie Notice and our terms of use, as well as to comply with corporate reporting and transparency obligations.
- Categories of Personal Data: The data will depend on the specific legal requirements.
- Legal Basis: Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
Application security and data analysis.
- Purpose: To collect usage data from our applications, websites and services in order to analyze user activity, fix errors, monitor usage and improve the security and performance of our websites, services and mobile applications. For example, Singular Beacon receives reports on some of the aggregate usage and browsing patterns of our mobile applications. Singular Beacon also receives reports on errors that occur within the mobile applications.
- Categories of Personal Data: Aggregate data on browsing and usage patterns of mobile applications, including information about the type of device used, the articles you access and other events that occur within our applications.
- Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in improving functionality and ensuring the security of users' data and of our business.
- Data Access: Singular Beacon may use external service providers as described in section five below.
Aggregation and anonymization of your data
- Purpose: To aggregate, de-identify or anonymize your personal data so that, depending on and in accordance with applicable law, your data is no longer considered personal data. We may use such data to provide our services, including statistical or research analysis, and we may share such data with our clients or other business parties.
- Categories of Personal Data: Personal data identified for other purposes in this chart.
- Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in providing our services and in protecting your privacy.
- Data Access: See section four below. Singular Beacon keeps de-identified personal data in unidentifiable form and does not use, or allow others to use, the de-identified data in any way that could identify the individuals within the data set.
Marketing communications
- Purpose: Depending on your preferences and on the option you choose when you sign up for newsletters, events and similar activities, we may send you news or updates about Singular Beacon related to your interests. You can opt out of those communications at any time.
- Categories of Personal Data: Name, email address, job title, company.
- Legal Basis: Your consent, given when signing up for newsletters, events and similar activities.
- Data Access: The subsidiaries and affiliates of Singular Beacon and external service providers as described in section five of this Privacy Notice.
4. What do we not do when we collect and process your personal data?
We do not acquire, use or allow others to use de-identified data with the intention of identifying individuals. When we receive de-identified data or transform personal data that we have collected into de-identified data, we make the following commitments:
- Singular Beacon will keep de-identified data in unidentifiable form.
- Except to the extent necessary to confirm that personal data has been transformed into anonymized data, Singular Beacon will not attempt to identify or re-identify specific individuals within an anonymized data set or otherwise use anonymized data to attempt to associate specific individuals with individual characteristics, and will not allow any entity or person acting on behalf of Singular Beacon to do so.
- To the extent that Singular Beacon provides access to or otherwise discloses a de-identified data set to a recipient other than Singular Beacon, for example, a service provider or a client, it will require each such recipient to agree to keep the de-identified data in its unidentifiable form and not to attempt, or allow others to attempt, to identify specific individuals within the de-identified data set or otherwise use the de-identified data to attempt to associate specific individuals with individual characteristics.
5. Who has access to your personal data? Data recipients and international data transfers.
Personal data collected in the course of Singular Beacon's business activities may be transferred and made available to Singular Beacon entities, service providers and third parties, as necessary to fulfill the specific business purposes for which it was collected and to support our interactions with you, and otherwise as required to comply with applicable law. The Singular Beacon entity that collects your personal data may provide access to and transfer your data to the following categories of data recipients, for the business purposes described in section three above:
- to the subsidiaries, affiliates and personnel of Singular Beacon throughout our global organization;
- to the service providers and personnel of Singular Beacon;
- to the legal and professional advisers of Singular Beacon;
- to third parties in the following circumstances;
– if we are required to do so by law or legal process;
– to law enforcement authorities or other government officials pursuant to a legal request;
– if we believe that disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity;
– if disclosure is necessary to protect the vital interests of a person;
– to enforce our Terms of Use;
– to protect our property, services and legal rights;
– to prevent fraud against Singular Beacon, our subsidiaries, affiliates or other business partners;
– to assist in the investigation by Singular Beacon of an actual or suspected security incident, such as a breach affecting confidential or personal information or a violation of Singular Beacon policy;
– to support audit, compliance and business management functions;
– to comply with all applicable laws. - to a successor or a different business entity in the event of a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment or other transfer or disposition of all or part of our business.
To protect personal data that is transferred internationally, Singular Beacon complies with all applicable data transfer regulations, including the incorporation of data transfer clauses into our agreements with the affiliates and subsidiaries of Singular Beacon, service providers and third parties of Singular Beacon.
6. Security
Singular Beacon protects and safeguards your personal data worldwide, in accordance with applicable law, our data privacy and security policies and this Privacy Notice. We use generally accepted standards of technical and operational security to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful loss, misuse, alteration or destruction, taking into account the risks associated with the personal data and its processing, and we require the same level of protection and safeguarding from our subsidiaries and affiliates, our service providers and third parties. Only authorized personnel of Singular Beacon and of our service providers have access to personal data, and they sign confidentiality undertakings covering the handling of the information they access. Despite taking these precautions, Singular Beacon cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will be able to gain access to your personal data.
7. How long does Singular Beacon keep your personal information?
Singular Beacon retains your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the business purposes for which it was collected, to comply with our legal or contractual obligations and in accordance with the data retention policy of Singular Beacon. We will securely erase your personal data immediately after the purposes described above cease to apply, in accordance with prevailing market practices for such destruction.
If you ask us to delete your personal data, Singular Beacon will comply with applicable law and will make every reasonable effort to delete all copies of the personal data, without prejudice to our right to keep a copy of that data for the purposes mentioned above. For requests for access, rectification or erasure, especially where processing is based on your consent, please see section nine of this Privacy Notice.
8. Collection of data from minors
Singular Beacon does not knowingly use its Sites and commercial content to collect or maintain personal data from persons under 18 years of age. To the extent that any of our business activities outside the Site may involve collecting or maintaining personal data from or about individuals under 18 years of age, we would do so only with the legally required consent of the parent, guardian or individual and in accordance with applicable law.
9. What are your data protection rights and how can you exercise them?
9.1. Your data protection rights.
Subject to applicable law, including the exceptions provided therein, you have the following rights with respect to the personal data we collect about you:
- the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you, including information about how we use your personal data, who has access to it and the conditions under which third parties have access to your personal data;
- the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- the right to request the portability of your data, enabling you to provide a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit that personal data to another controller;
- the right to request that we rectify or otherwise amend your personal data if it is not complete or is not correct, timely or accurate for the purposes for which we use it;
- the right to request the erasure of your personal data;
- the right to request that we cease processing, or restrict or limit the processing of, your personal data;
- the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data where the basis for our processing is your consent;
- the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your individual rights with respect to your personal data;
- the right to request a review by the global data protection officer within Singular Beacon and, where applicable, by the local data protection officer of Singular Beacon for your jurisdiction, of our response to your request to exercise your individual data protection rights; and
- the right to pursue additional legal remedies in relation to our response to your request to exercise your individual data protection rights which, depending on your jurisdiction, may include lodging a complaint with your data protection authority or initiating court proceedings.
9.2. How can you exercise your data protection rights?

Once we have received your request to exercise your data protection rights, we will acknowledge receipt within the period required by applicable law and provide you with information on the next steps in the process and the time frames. To help protect your privacy and security, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on certain data protection rights, in accordance with applicable law. If you are using an authorized agent to exercise your data protection rights and that agent does not provide a notarized power of attorney with the initial request, we may request further evidence of the agent's right to act on your behalf, including a valid written authorization, or contact you to verify the request.
Please note that applicable laws include exceptions to the exercise of data protection rights that may prevent us from providing access to your personal data or from fully complying with your request. If we believe that exceptions apply, we will respond to your request to the extent that we are able to do so, and we will provide you with an explanation of the basis for not being able to comply with your request in whole or in part.
